Keep a minimum of 50 meter distance where the animals are grazing. Make sure your dog is trained enough to make loud noises or sudden movements because that scares the cattle, also, do not stare at the cows. Avoid crossing the fields and keep your dog on a short leash.

a. Cows and calves attack when dogs get between the cattle. Their natural instinct kicks in in order to protect their baby. If the cow is on heat, they are unpredictable and can be very dangerous.
