TMC MP Sushmita Dev’s car vendalised in Tripura
NEW DELHI: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Friday claimed the party MP Sushmita Dev's car was vandalised by some people in Tripura and that she was brutally attacked at Amtali area and sustained injuries when she along with party workers and I-PAC employees was campaigning in a car for a TMC programme.
Dev oversees TMC's activities in Tripura. The party alleged the BJP was behind the attack.
Party sources said the MP was taken to a private hospital for treatment.
Sharing a video of vandalised vehicle, All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on Twitter said, "Once again CM of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb proves that he cannot bear the presence of AITC in Tripura! His goons have brutally attacked us on the very first day of our campaign."

"Why is Amit Shah silent? What about the safety and security of people in Tripura? Where is Democracy?" the party questioned.
The party also said, "People of Tripura will give a befitting response to this barbaric attack! Police must immediately stop acting as mere spectators. This collapse of law and order is unacceptable. We demand justice!"
Meanwhile, West Bengal chief minister's nephew and TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has also condemned the incident. He has called the incident 'shameful' and termed it as "political terrorism" by "goons" of the BJP.

West Tripura superintendent of police, Manik Das said that some unidentified miscreants had damaged Dev's car when she was conducting a public relations campaign and a police force was immediately rushed to the spot.
She had personally visited Amtali police station and lodged a complaint and the situation in the area is under control, the police officer said.
“TMC did not give any prior intimation before launching their political programme so police was not present there. Some miscreants have slightly damaged the car, but police did not find any visible injury. An investigation is on”, Das said.
On Twitter, the TMC also said: "Yet another dastardly attack on Trinamool workers under the #DuareGundaRaj (goonda raj at the doorstep) of @BjpBiplab government. Shame on the @BJP4Tripura government for REPEATEDLY attacking us and creating chaos in the state! Is this what Democracy means to Biplab Deb? Is this what the people of #Tripura deserve?"
