In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan welcomes guests from the medical professional. Sandhya Makhija is the first contestant to take the hot-seat. She recites a poem, which she dedicated to the host.
Contestant Sandhya is a State Tax Inspector in the GST department. She states that she keeps an eye on the black money laundering and helps tax payers. She asks Big B, if he has paid his GST. Big B jokes and says had he not paid his taxes, he wouldn’t be sitting here. He also tells her to pay the GST after winning the amount, else one of her colleagues might fine her.

She takes the help of Audience Poll lifeline for the third question – What does the letter ‘F’, labeled on keys on the first row of a standard computer keyboard, stand for? – A. Formula, B. Function, C. Font and D. Factor.
They help her win Rs 3000 with the correct answer is B. Function.

She talks about starting work at the age of 20 as Amitabh Bachchan hesitantly asks her age. He lauds her achievements by the age of 24. Sandhya speaks about her financial struggles and left her MBBS to support her family and siblings.

Big B requests all to give all the girls a chance to study and not just marry them off. He calls her an inspiration.

She uses second lifeline – 50-50 for Rs. 20,000 question. In the question, a scene from Vidya Balan’s film Sherni was shown. The question was – The plot of this film revolves around the capture of which animal. After using the lifeline, Sandhya answered Tiger as the correct answer.

In the next question, she is shown a picture and the question around it is: On the banks of which river was this fort built by Rani Ahilya Bai Holkar? Options – A. Godavari, B. Narmada, C. Tapi, D. Betwa

Sandhya answers option A but the correct answer is option B. She is unable to answer question for Rs. 40,000 and takes home Rs. 10,000.

Sarbjeet Singh becomes the next contestant to take the hot-seat. He is a school teacher.

After a question related to the pulse rate, Big B goes to check his own pulse rate. He says, ‘I don’t have any’. Later he says, “After I met with an accident, doctors operated my wrist, and since then I can’t feel my pulse on my wrist. Sometimes I joke with others to check my pulse and then they get shocked unable to find it. I find it funny at times.”

For the unversed, in 2010, Big B had written about meeting with an accident in his blog. His hand was seriously injured and here's an excerpt from the blog which reads: The very next year after the myasthenia a bomb exploded in my hand, yes the left again, at the time of Diwali. It was a spurious ‘anar’, the sparkling fountain, and as I was lighting it exploded in my hand. The entire palm and the area below my wrist burnt up into almost a pulp. The left hand had melted into a fist shape, with nothing left of it. No fingers, no nails, no nothing. The process of treatment started, I was in Delhi at the time and in the middle of a film shoot in Chennai. The film was ‘Inquilab’. There was a deadline on when the film had to finish and I was desperate to get back. The doctors told me I would not heal before the time I was asking. I was stubborn. I asked them to do the best they could and leave me. Delicate procedures to start separating each finger from the melted mass was an intricate and very painful process. Because of my recent surgeries under general anesthesia, they were reluctant to give me another one to perform the intricate work on my hand. I told them to do it live. When the pain became too unbearable I would tell them to stop and continue the next day. After days of work on it and some basics being achieved, I sought leave and reported for work, hand in bandage.

Sarbjeet is from Mendhar in Jammu and Kashmir. He teaches kids in a Govt school which is located near the Indo-Pak border. Sarbjeet reveals that often when there is shelling, the kids are rushed to bunkers built in the school. He also talks about how he lost his brother to a bomb explosion.

He uses lifeline – audience poll for Rs. 10,000 question. – Which of these names means “one who keeps patience or control in battle”? Options were: A. Randhir, B. Ranjit, C. Ranvir and D. Ranvijay. Audience poll help him answer correctly – Randhir.

The next question for Rs. 3,20,000 is ‘Where did the first ever Khelo India Winter Sports and Youth Festival take place in 2021?’ A. Zanskar, B. Srinagar, C. Gulmarg, D. Gangtok. Sarbjeet fails to answer it correctly and uses ‘Flip the question’ lifeline. Zanskar was the correct answer.

The next question comes according to his pre-selected category – My city, my state.

The question is: Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden of Srinagar, Asia’s largest tulip garden, is located in the foothills of which mountain range? A. Nun Kun Range, B. Nanga Parbat Range, C. Pir Panjal Range and D. Zabarwan Range. Sarbjeet correctly answers Zabarwan Range and wins Rs. 3,20,000.

The game ends for the day.
