But in the last couple of years, my overall health and fitness deteriorated significantly, which was mostly related to my faulty dietary habits and leading a sedentary lifestyle. This not only affected me personally but professionally too. So, I decided to do something about it and take my health seriously.

My lunch: Roti +salad+ egg(2no)+ dal/pulses



My dinner: A serving of grilled or stir-fried chicken /paneer/soya +rice

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days):I am very proud to say that I did not have a single cheat meal while I was dieting to lose weight.

I used to workout 4 days a week. This exercise regime included a combination of weight training and cardio. Initially, I focussed only on cardio and high intensity interval training (HIIT) routines. They helped me lose weight but at the same time, I also dropped a significant amount of muscle mass.

How do you stay motivated?

Staying motivated is one of the most important parts to achieve any target and my weight loss journey is no exception to that. Since I knew I have a weight gaining tendency, therefore, I constantly used to look at my old pictures that reminded me how much more effort I need to put in.


How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I focussed on evaluating my progress every month and reassess what changes may have been needed. It gives me heavy motivation and stronger determination.

What's the most difficult part of being overweight?

The fear and worry about not being able to lead to a good, healthy, cheerful life made me tackle depressive feelings.


What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? Nothing specific in my mind but I just want to have a decent physique and most of all a fit and healthy lifestyle.


What are the lifestyle changes you made? I quit parties, said no to cheat meals and put in all concentration to the work that was needed. I also bid goodbye to oily food, had shorter-frequent meals and ate my meals on time.

What was the lowest point for you?

Being fat and the odd one out from the group made me feel very sad and low. I felt terrible accepting this reality.


Lessons learnt from weight loss: You need to be highly disciplined and work hard to live a life better than the ordinary.
