Director Shankar's daughter, Aditi Shankar, paired opposite Karthi in Viruman

Ace director Shankar's daughter, Aditi Shankar, will be making her film debut and will be seen playing the female lead opposite Karthi in the actor's Viruman, which will be directed by Muthaiaya. Aditi is the younger daughter of Shankar. His eldest daughter, Aishwarya, a doctor, had recently got married to Rohit Damodaren, a cricketer, who plays in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

The Komban team of Karthi and director Muthaiah are teaming up once again for this rural entertainer, which will be produced by Suriya and Jyotika under their home banner. Interestingly, Suriya and Jyotika had also bankrolled Kadaikutty Singam, Karthi's blockbuster rural film, and the team is hoping that this film, too, will turn out the same way as the Pandiraj directorial.

For the first time, Yuvan Shankar Raja will be working with Muthaiah. Yuvan, who has delivered hit songs for Karthi in films like Paruthiveeran, Paiyaa and Naan Mahaan Alla, will be composing music for a Karthi film after eight years. Their previous collaboration was Biriyani, in 2013.

This rural drama will be set in and around south Tamil Nadu, especially Theni, and talk about the importance of family and relationships. Raj Kiran, who was also part of Komban, will be seen in a crucial role. Prakash raj and Soori are also part of the cast.

The film will go on floors on Monday with a puja in Chennai, while the shoot will kick-start in Theni on September 18, and go on for a while. Karthi is currently shooting for Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Poniyin Selvan, PS-1. He also has PS Mithran's Sardar, which has already begun shoot.
