Bell Bottom box office update: Akshay Kumar’s spy drama records a drop, collects Rs 4.25 crore in second weekend

Akshay Kumar went all out to entertain his fans with a massive entertainer like ‘Bell Bottom’. Despite the occupancy restrictions and fewer screen count, the makers of ‘Bell Bottom’ decided to take a leap of faith which has resulted in the movie scoring a low figure at the box office. In its second weekend, the spy drama collected Rs 4.25 crore nett and with Janmashtami on Monday, Rs 1 crore was added to the total collection.

According to Boxofficeindia.com, the film recorded a drop of 6 per cent from its first weekend and despite crucial evening shows opening up, there is no audience. ‘Bell Bottom’ has mainly got massive collections from Gujarat and East Punjab circuit with Delhi NCR contributing the most in the Delhi / UP circuit. Due to a non-functioning market ‘Bell Bottom’ collections will continue to dip. At the end of 12 days at the box office, ‘Bell Bottom’ has collected Rs 24 crore nett and by the end of this week, the film is expected to rake in around Rs 26.50 crore nett.

Directed by Ranjit Tewari, ‘Bell Bottom’ features Akshay Kumar in the lead role of a spy. Commenting on the risk of releasing 'Bell Bottom' amid several restrictions in India, Akshay had told PTI, "The pressure is there on everybody but I'm very sure that things are going to work out. There's a challenge, a risk. But if you haven't taken the risk in life, then what have you done? So we have gone with it. In this journey, I have my producers who have also taken the risk and that's how we have proceeded." While speaking about theatres being shut in Maharashtra, Akshay had added, "It is a gamble and someone had to take this gamble. We have taken this leap and I'm confident that this is going to work."
